Are you looking for an opportunity get outside while doing something meaningful?
One local organization is continuing with volunteer clean-up programs at the Guadalupe River Park, with COVID-19 precautions.
Optional dates to participate include Thursdays, August 13, 20, and 27. Each event runs from 8:45 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The community workdays are helping to reduce litter on the trails, which have seen high usage in recent weeks.
COVID-19 precautions include social distancing, facemask requirements, and limited volunteer slots to keep groups small. Organizers note that water fountains and public restrooms are shuttered as well.
The minimum age to participate is 10 years old and chaperones must accompany any volunteer younger than 15.
