Head of Sunnyvale Chamber leaves organization

After ten years as head of the Sunnyvale Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, Don Eagleston has left the organization. The group is now actively searching for a long-term replacement.

During his tenure, Eagleston helped grown the local Art and Wine Festival into a major annual attraction. He is also credited with building the group’s ‘Murphy Awards’ up over recent years.

“Please join us in wishing Don as much success in the future as he has experienced leading the Chamber,” said Graham Clark, chairman of the organization’s board of directors.

The board plans to install an interim leader to fill the void, which comes as businesses face unprecedented economic challenges.

While the departure was sudden – the organization announced Eagleston’s departure a day before he left the job – the board chair sought to reassure local businesses.

“The Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce remains fully committed to doing everything we can to help and support the business community through these unprecedented times and into the future,” said Clark.

The Sunnyvale Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1906.
