County continues pop-up COVID-19 testing program

As part of its effort to improve testing capacity, Santa Clara County is continuing its neighborhood COVID-19 testing pop-ups.

Health officials are setting up two new testing sites, running from Tuesday through Friday, in Gilroy and North San Jose.

“The County is strategically positioning our pop-up test centers where they are most essential,” said Mike Wasserman, Vice President of the County Board of Supervisors.

Each site is available for walk-up testing free of charge and without an appointment. No insurance is required and immigration status will not be checked.

Both locations can test up to 500 individuals per day.

According to Wasserman, there are now more than 45 COVID-19 testing locations countywide.

The recommends that all workers who regularly interact with the public be tested at least monthly. That guidance applies regardless of if employees are experiencing symptoms.

“Increased testing will help us battle COVID-19 and allow us to enter the next stage of recovery as soon as possible,” said County Supervisor Dave Cortese.

Pop-up testing locations:

From Tuesday, June 9 to Friday, June 12 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day)

  • Valley Health Center, 7475 Camino Arroyo, Gilroy
  • County Service Center Auditorium, 1555 Berger Dr., San Jose
