Cupertino keeping residents active with virtual classes

With in-person fitness opportunities halted due to novel coronavirus, Cupertino is getting creative.

The city has been running a virtual recreation page for the last few weeks, engaging its normally active parks and recreation department in a new way.

Each Friday, the city posts fun activities for residents of all ages. Using the hashtag #CupertinoCares, residents can see others who are participating.

A number of live fitness classes are also underway, offered over Zoom. Offerings include Zumba, Pilates, Bootcamps, Yoga and more.

“While we have closed our facilities and everyone is sheltering in place, our Department is still committed to being a resource for fun, education, and healthy activities to help you get through these stressful times,” the city website reads.

For residents looking for a less physical activity, the city also has resources for mental activities.
