Pest deterrence workshop Saturday in Sunnyvale

With spring and summer just around the corner, many West Valley residents are gearing up to plant their gardens.

A workshop in Sunnyvale this weekend hopes to answer questions for residents on how to prevent pests from undermining those gardening efforts. It is a topic that is particularly important for those planning to eat vegetables they are able to grow.

The workshop will be an in-depth look at natural alternatives to pesticides that will make for healthier vegetable plants and a more sustainable growing environment. Additionally, the gathering will discuss beneficial insects, and organic pesticides.

This free event, hosted by the City of Sunnyvale at the Sunnyvale Senior Center’s Laurel Room, 550 E. Remington Dr., is set for Saturday, March 7.

It runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
