Building on recent classes in Campbell and Los Altos Hills, Santa Clara County Fire Department personnel will be on hand in Cupertino this week to train residents on CPR and AED skills.
Set for Wednesday, February 26, at the Cupertino Community Hall, 10350 Torre Rd., the event is free to attend.
Those present will learn how to operate an automatic external defibrillator (AED), which can help restart the heart of a person in need. Skills will include compression techniques for adults and children, ways to aid a choking victim, and more.
Importantly, this is not a class for those needing a two-year CPR/AED certification, as it is ‘hands only’. Santa Clara County Fire personnel or other non-profit organizations offer certification-level classes at specific intervals. Information on those opportunities is here.
This free workshop runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. It is available for those who live or work in Campbell, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills and the unincorporated surrounding areas.
