Arastradero Preserve walk – in Spanish – Saturday

For families looking to get out into the great outdoors this weekend, amidst the ongoing dearth of rainfall, one local group has a great opportunity planned.

Grassroots Ecology is organizing a family walk, alongside some local naturalists, to enjoy the Arastradero Preserve in Palo Alto, with the conversations taking place in Spanish.

The hike will go along Portola Pastures and Meadowlark Trails to Lake Arastradero, returning along the Juan Baptista Trail. Organizers expect it to be a flat trek overall, with opportunities to learn about plants, ecosystems, and park history.

While the event will occur rain or shine, weather is forecast to be clear. Attendees are advised to bring water bottles and comfortable walking shoes.

Parking is available in the main parking lot at Pearson-Arastradero Preserve, 1530 Arastradero Rd. in Palo Alto.

The hike, set for Saturday, February 15, starts at 10 a.m. and should be finished by approximately 12 noon.
