‘Taste of India’ menu coming to local Subway restaurants

Restaurants of every size and variety have been working in recent years to expand their flavor profiles and to introduce new cuisines and cultures to their menus.

Some local Subway restaurants are getting in on the action as well, launching a new ‘Taste of India’ menu in some locations across our region.

Participating Subway locations in the South and East Bay, will have new varieties of sandwiches featuring traditional Indian flavors. The ‘Taste of India’ menu items include Chicken Tikka, Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Mango Curry, and a vegetarian Paneer Tikka. Locations will also offer a new Mango Agua Fresca beverage.

Akki Patel, a franchisee and development agent for nearly 900 Subway locations pushed for the new menu additions, fulfilling his desire to bring Indian flavors of his homeland to local customers.

“Our goal with Taste of India was to create a delicious menu that showcases regional Indian food and culture, and that celebrates the diversity in the Bay Area as well,” said Patel.
