Following up on their successful Christmas carol performances in December, Schola Cantorum Silicon Valley, one of the region’s premier choruses, is back on stage this weekend.
The group is hosting a community singalong featuring some of Broadway’s best-known songs, with the show’s title “My Favorite Things: The Songwriting Genius of Richard Rodgers” setting the tone for the day.
In additions to songs from The Sound of Music, South Pacific, and Oklahoma!, some of Rodger’s most famous shows, there will be performances from Rodger’s years collaborating with Lorenz Hart and Oscar Hammerstein II.
Dawn Reyen, Assistant Director of Schola, will lead the singalong from the piano, and projector screens will show lyrics for all those who aren’t yet familiar with Rodger’s lyrical genius.
Los Altos United Methodist Church, 655 Magdalena Ave. in Los Altos, will host the event on Sunday, January 26, beginning at 3 p.m.
Tickets are $15 per person. For more information on this event, click here.
