Have you been looking for the chance to brush up on your CPR skills, but missed the free class earlier this month in Campbell? A class set for this week in Los Altos Hills might be the right opportunity.
Santa Clara County Fire Department personnel will be on hand Wednesday, January 15, at the Los Altos Hills Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Rd., to train attendees in the proper techniques for CPR.
Organizers ask that attendees park in the facilities parking lot and not on the street, as the street area is not well lit after dark and can be a safety concern.
Additionally, attendees will learn how to operate an automatic external defibrillator (AED), which can help restart the heart of a person in need. Skills will include compression techniques for adults and children, ways to aid a choking victim, and more.
Importantly, this is not a class for those needing a two-year CPR/AED certification, as it is ‘hands only’. Santa Clara County Fire personnel or other non-profit organizations offer certification-level classes at specific intervals. Information on those opportunities is here.
This free workshop runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. It is available for those who live or work in Campbell, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills and the unincorporated surrounding areas.
