Free CPR / AED class Wednesday in Campbell

If you’ve been looking for the chance to brush up on your CPR skills, a class this week might be the right opportunity.

Santa Clara County Fire Department personnel will be on hand Wednesday, January 8, at the Campbell Community Center, 1 West Campbell Ave., to train attendees in the proper techniques for CPR.

Additionally, attendees will learn how to operate an automatic external defibrillator (AED), which can help restart the heart of a person in need. Skills will include compression techniques for adults and children, ways to aid a choking victim, and more.

Importantly, this is not a class for those needing a two-year CPR/AED certification, as it is ‘hands only’. Santa Clara County Fire personnel or other non-profit organizations offer those classes at specific intervals. Information on those opportunities is here.

This free workshop runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. It is available for those who live or work in Campbell, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills and the unincorporated surrounding areas.
