Holiday luncheon for Cupertino seniors a rousing success

Cupertino Rotary held its annual luncheon for local seniors last week, which by all accounts was a rousing success.

The gathering, which brings together community members from across the city, helped kick off the last few weeks before Christmas. Councilmember Rod Sinks was on hand to play the piano and the band The Grateful Dads led sign-along songs.

Partner organizations, including Live Oak, Rebuilding Together, West Valley Community Services, Forum, and Sunnyview, identified approximately 35 seniors for the luncheon, which Cupertino Rotarians staffed and financially supported.

In addition to the numerous musical entertainers, Santa also made an appearance, bringing the joy of the Christmas season.

Henry Buffalow, Cupertino Rotary’s Community Services Chair, said, “I just love seeing the smiles on the faces of our guests! They speak volumes!”

In addition to holiday dishes and desserts, eggnog, and take-home bags, seniors received poinsettia plants as holiday decorations.
