Santana Row tree lighting just days away

The holiday season is getting underway, with Thanksgiving less than two weeks away, ushering in time with family and friends.

Santana Row, in West San Jose, is set to get their holiday season moving next week with its annual tree lighting ceremony, celebrating the season.

The event will feature live music and professional dance performances from San Jose Dance Theater’s The Nutcracker ballet. A range of family friendly activities, including photos opportunities with The Grinch and an Elf on the Shelf scavenger hunt, will entertain attendees of every age.

The main event, lighting of the 40 foot-tall tree, is set for approximately 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19. Activities start at 3 p.m. with the scavenger hunt, continue with pre-show entertainment in Santana Row Park from 5 to 6:45 p.m., and wrap up after the lighting with an 8 p.m. sing-a-long with the Bethel Church choir.

Additionally, characters from nearby California’s Great America – including Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Jack Frost, and the Sugar Plum Fairy – will be on hand from 5 to 9 p.m.
