Saturday morning in Cupertino will be a bit busier than usual, with the 7th annual Heroes Run taking place in the city center.
Put on by the Valley Medical Center Foundation, Santa Clara Sheriffs Office, and the Santa Clara County Fire Department, the Heroes Run proceeds benefit children’s health services at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Hospital and Clinics.
The main event on Saturday, November 2, is a 5k run/walk, but a Kids Fun Run for those ages two to seven years old and a Hero Dash obstacle course will also be taking place. A community fair and kid-friendly activities round out the family fun.
Since starting in 2013, the Heroes Run has raised more than $100,000 for health services at SCVMC.
The Hero Dash is open beginning at 8 a.m. running through 12 p.m. The 5k begins promptly at 9 a.m. and the Kids Fun Run begins at 10:30 a.m.
The 5k course begins at Cupertino Civic Center, 10800 Torre Ave., continuing south on Torre Ave, turning left on Pacifica Dr., taking a quick turn on Farallone Dr., turning left on Suisin Dr., a left to go north on Blaney Ave., a right on Price Ave., with a zig zag down Portal Ave., Wintergreen Dr., Cold Harbor Ave., and Vicksburg Dr. before heading up Richwood Dr. and returning down Estates Dr. A right turn on Clifford Dr. returns runners back to the Suisin/Pacifica/Torre route and the finish line.
