STEAM event Sunday in Palo Alto

A new event, highlighting some of the building blocks of Silicon Valley’s competitive advantage, is coming to Palo Alto this weekend.

The city is set to host its first STEAM showcase, with exhibits and demonstrations around science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Vendor presentations – including from major corporations and area institutions – and robotics demonstrations are among the planned activities.

Admission to this event, held at the Mitchell Park Community Center – 3700 Middlefield Rd., is free. It is set to run from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 22nd.

A raffle at the event will support Robotics for All, which has a mission of providing cost-free robotics classes to low-income communities. Microsoft will be running an Hour of Code event focused on the highly popular Minecraft game and Lawrence Hall of Science will have its Electricity Show on site as well.
