FUHSD students recognized at regional science, technology award ceremony

More than 60 students from Fremont Union High School District (FUHSD) were honored at the Synopsys Silicon Valley Science and Technology Championship Award Ceremony on April 8 at the Heritage Theatre in Campbell.

The Synopsys Championship is a regional competition that took place on March 15 at the San Jose Convention Center and showcased Santa Clara County’s future scientists, technology experts, engineers and mathematicians. Students worked to find solutions, independently or in teams, to questions related to computer science, environmental science, medicine & health, and various other categories.

At an April 8 awards ceremony, 35 Monta Vista High School students, 18 Cupertino High students, 7 Homestead High students and a student from Lawson Middle School were recognized for their submitted projects.

The types of awards given varied, but every participating student was acknowledged for their hard work by their parents, teachers and peers.
