Cupertino High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) placed fourth in sweepstakes at the Bay Section Leadership Conference on February 3 at Homestead High School.

The 2018 Bay Section Leadership Conference is one of many conferences that members of the FBLA in Cupertino attend. Each section is required to host one conference and multiple training sessions each year, designed to train chapter officers and leaders about the association and their role as local leaders, according to California FBLA.

This conference holds the first round of competitions leading to the State Leadership Conference in the spring.

FBLA is a non-profit organization that helps guide high school students into becoming the next business leaders and entrepreneurs of America by teaching leadership, business concepts, financial literacy, and career preparation, according to Cupertino High School’s website.

Cupertino High’s team placed in 22 of the 37 events they competed in at the conference. Those who placed will be advancing to the State Leadership Conference.
