The City’s emergency alert system has merged with Santa Clara County’s, called AlertSCC.

The alert system sends warnings and instructions to anyone who lives or works in Santa Clara County in the event of a variety of emergencies, including flooding, wildfires, public safety incidents, crimes and post-disaster information about shelters, according to Santa Clara County’s Office of Emergency Service.

Authorized personnel send the alerts directly to county residents’ cell phones, mobile devices, email, or landline.

Users must sign up for AlertSCC to receive the warnings. Signing up is free and confidential.
