Cupertino plans to make ‘Pooch Plunge’ an annual event

55 dogs “showed up with their humans in tow” for the inaugural Pooch Plunge at Blackberry Farm last month and the city of Cupertino’s staff intends to make it an annual event.

The Sept. 30 event invited Cupertino’s dogs to attend 1-hour swim lessons. Not only was it fun, but all of the $10 fee residents paid to participate in the Pooch Plunge will benefit the organization Best Friends, which is aiding canine hurricane victims, according to the city.

“The pooches had a grand time playing, socializing, and (of course) swimming,” according to the city’s monthly newsletter. “Feedback from the humans was positive, so staff plans on making this an annual event.”
