Cupertino Thrives encourages lawn maintenance

The drought of the last few years has caused many to let their yards go, says Cupertino Thrives. Now that the drought is over, the group is calling on property owners to maintain their yards to avoid blight and “keep Cupertino beautiful as well as protect your home’s value”.

Community organization Cupertino Thrives fears that unkempt yards will attract rodents, plant diseases, and health risks to the community.

The group recommends reporting property owners who have failed to keep up the care of their lawn to Code Enforcement, which will then visit those homes, tell the owners to resolve the issues or face financial penalty, according to the Cupertino Thrives Facebook page.
