Cupertino’s rents still increasing; $4,020 for 1-bedroom

Rents continue to rise across the Bay Area, with an increase in Cupertino of 6-percent year-over-year, according to Apartmentlist.com’s National Rent Report released Monday.

Rents for a one-bedroom apartment in Cupertino average $4,020, while the average rent for a two-bedroom is $5,040, according to the report.

Seventeen Bay Area cities that have been affected by the steady rent increase in the past year, including San Mateo, Walnut Creek, Oakland, San Francisco and San Jose. Out of the 100 largest U.S. cities, only 10 have seen rents decrease in the past year.

Cupertino is at the top of the list for highest apartment rent increase in the Bay Area.
