The library commission will recommend Kaecey McCormick to be the city’s next poet laureate at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
Kaecey McCormick is a writer, artist, teacher and freelancer who will be the City’s 5th Poet Laureate.
The Cupertino Poet Laureate is an honorary volunteer position sponsored by the City of Cupertino and is seated in its public library, according to the City website.
The role of the Poet Laureate is to host public events to promote the literary arts and inspire creativity for all residents through poetry contests, writing workshops, lectures and public readings.
