Cupertino resident wins $1,000 in scholarship contest

Krithi Byadgi of Cupertino was announced as the first place winner of the the ‘Won My Education’ scholarship essay contest in August.

Byadgi, who graduated from Notre Dame de Namur University with a bachelor’s degree in political science, earned $1,000 for the first-place finish. She plans to put the price money towards her most recent college semester, Spring 2017, according to the Dromen Group.

The Dromen Group is a nonprofit providing scholarship opportunities to students needing financial assistance.
