Have an interest in crime scene investigations or trying on a bomb suit? The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging residents of Cupertino, Saratoga, and Los Altos Hills to take part in its Fall 2017 Community Academy, a free program geared toward those interested in learning more about the role of sheriff’s deputies, from solving homicide investigations to donning SWAT gear.

The academy, which runs from Sept. 14 through Dec. 7, will be held at Monta Vista High School, 21840 McClellan Road in Cupertino. Call (408) 868-6623 for an application or contact lee.hickinbotham@shf.sccgov.org.
